Embrace Grief and Self
Embrace Grief and Self
Poetry and Musings
Writing, getting the words out, is a wonderful release.
Time
One day you wake up
You have trouble recalling the last time your own sobbing woke you
You realize the amount of time that has passed
It doesn't feel like time should feel; as if there is a distance between the before and now
It's as if before is still yesterday
The pictures in your mind as vivid as that night, the pain less intense
You have learned to breath again
Your head a little higher, shoulders a little lighter
The guilt of being strong and brave to face each day less haunting
And the unimagined future less daunting
